Sand Springs exists because an oilman decided it should. Charles Page founded it in 1911 as a haven for orphans and widows, bought 160 acres for a children's home, then built a whole town around it — offering free land to settlers and cash to companies that relocated.
That mission never stopped. The Sand Springs Home still cares for children, and the Charles Page Family Village still houses more than a hundred mothers and their children at no cost. The high school carries Page's name and residents call themselves Sandites. It is a town with an unusually strong sense of itself, and the events reflect that — reunions, fundraisers and community nights land harder here than they do in a commuter suburb.

Have you played any venues in Sand Springs?
