Yukon is sixteen miles west of Oklahoma City on historic Route 66 — a town with a genuine Czech dance-hall tradition, a 1940s neon flour-mill sign on Main Street, and a street named after Garth Brooks. It has grown about fifteen percent in four years, and the events have grown with it.
Yukon has a dance-hall tradition.
Most towns do not have a folk-dance culture. Yukon does. It calls itself the Czech Capital of Oklahoma, and it earns it — Oklahoma Czechs, Inc. has run the Czech Festival every year since 1966, held the first Saturday in October, with a parade, kolaches, polka bands and traditional kroje dress. There is a Czech Hall on Czech Hall Road, and it is a real dance hall.
That matters more than it sounds. A town with an existing dancing tradition produces crowds that show up expecting to dance rather than expecting to be coaxed — which changes how a set gets built. The energy can start higher and stay there, instead of spending the first hour convincing people the floor is open.
Route 66, neon and Garth.
Historic Route 66 runs through Yukon as Main Street, and the YUKON'S BEST FLOUR sign on top of the old mill has been a landmark since the 1940s. It went dark for years and was restored and relit in 2013 after the town raised roughly $175,000 to do it — which tells you something about how Yukon feels about its own history.
Garth Brooks grew up here, and the parade route runs down a street named for him. The historical museum, in an old three-storey school building, keeps a Chisholm Trail collection, a Garth display and a full room of Czech history.

Do you cover Yukon and the west metro?
Yes — Yukon, Mustang, El Reno and Piedmont. Six Oklahoma City venues about twenty-five minutes east are on the venues-played list, and the corridor is regular ground.
Can you play Czech and polka music?
If it's on your must-play list, it gets played. Open format means the set is built from what your crowd actually responds to, and in Yukon that genuinely can include a polka set alongside hip-hop throwbacks and Top 40 — the job is reading which one the floor wants next.
Do you do barn weddings out toward Mustang and El Reno?
Yes. Barn and rural-property venues need sound aimed for high ceilings and hard surfaces, uplighting to give the room its own light, and power confirmed with the venue in advance. It is routine work.
Is there a travel charge from Tulsa?
